Raipur. A seminar titled "Inclusion of Sindhi Language in the Perspective of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020" was organized by Anjaneya University, Raipur. The primary objective of the seminar was to engage in deep deliberation regarding the preservation, promotion, and effective inclusion of the Sindhi language in higher education.
Inaugural Session and Key Highlights
Delivering the welcome address, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. T. Rama Rao, stated that NEP 2020 is a powerful medium to bring Indian knowledge traditions back to the center of education. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. J. C. Ajwani, former Head of Department (Psychology), Government Girls College, Devendra Nagar, Raipur. In his thought-provoking session, he highlighted the interrelationship between language and psychology, explaining that receiving education in one's mother tongue strengthens cognitive development. He presented the socio-cultural background, literary heritage, and relevance of the Sindhi language in modern education through various examples.
The Honorable Chancellor, Mr. Abhishek Agarwal, in his blessing address, called NEP 2020 a historic effort to connect the soul of India with education. He stated that the preservation of rich languages like Sindhi is the moral responsibility of educational institutions. He lauded the university's initiative, noting it would foster linguistic pride and cultural consciousness among the youth.

An Open Mic session titled "Meri Bhasha, Meri Pehchan" (My Language, My Identity) provided a platform for vibrant dialogue. Speakers including Mr. Lalit Jaisingh, Mr. Amit Jeevan, and Dr. (Mrs.) Kajal Sachdev shared their views. They presented emotional and intellectual perspectives, linking the Sindhi language to identity, memory, and cultural inheritance. This session proved to be highly insightful as a panel discussion.
